Overview

This course is great if you are thinking about progressing in the plumbing industry. You will study a variety of construction and building tasks which include both plumbing and electrical work. This is the next step up from the Level 1 course and you will study drainage, central heating, hot water systems and common plumbing.

You will also develop your health and safety ethos and communication skills when working in building services.

As part of your study programme additional short courses will be included that enhances your skills, knowledge and employability prospects.

September - June

Entry requirements

You must have an appropriate Level 1 Plumbing qualification. School leavers are not able to apply for this course.

You will be assessed by theoretical examinations and a summative practical assessment.

The City and Guilds in Plumbing is the first step towards your career as a plumber. This can lead to further study with the Level 3 Diploma in Plumbing. If a work placement is gained you can be transferred onto the City & Guilds NVQ Level 2 Diploma in Plumbing and Heating.

The College Careers Service is available to all our students. We can help you when deciding which course or option you wish to take. During your course we ensure you develop employability skills and gain relevant experience. We provide information, advice and support when completing your course and progressing to work or going into further education.

Tuition fees are free if you are a UK or home- fee status student and aged 16-18 on the 31st August before the start of your course.

If you are aged 19 or over, you may be required to pay fees depending on your residency status, educational background and personal circumstances.

Explore Construction

Construction students will have the opportunity to work in state of the art workshops, and have access to a real life outdoor construction site. This realistic work environment allows students to gain practical experience in constructing a single story dwelling which is built from foundations up to the roof.
