Overview

This course will give you an understanding of the knowledge and skills needed to care for young children.  The course covers children's growth, learning and development with units to help with personal development. You will be introduced to the different sectors and look at both children and adult needs including nutrition, health and communication. You will also have the opportunity to explore units such as leisure activities for adults and learning experiences for young children.

Entry requirements

4 GCSE's grades 1-2. You will be required to complete a satisfactory Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS check).

This is all assessed through assignments.

You can progress on to the level 2 Health and Social Care or Early Years Education and Care. This course will also allow you to progress into entry level employment or an apprenticeship in the care sectors.

Tuition fees are free if you are a UK or home- fee status student and aged 16-18 on the 31st August before the start of your course.

If you are aged 19 or over, you may be required to pay fees depending on your residency status, educational background and personal circumstances.
