This course is studied alongside BTEC Applied Psychology to make a full time course.
It is equivalent in size to two A Levels, eight units of which six are mandatory and three are external. External assessment (46%).
The course has a good mix of traditional science theory, scientific practical skills, criminology, law and forensic techniques.

Entry requirements

Must have achieved grade 5 in English Language, maths and science (combined or trilogy) and 2 other GCSEs above a grade 4.

The course has mandatory and optional units which are both external and internally assessed
which includes exams in year 1 and year 2, controlled assessments which are practical based and internally set assignments.

Students can go on to study a range of courses such as Forensic Science, Criminology,
Psychology and Crime scene science. There is a wide range of occupations for graduate entry including forensic laboratories, the police force and the probation service.

Tuition fees are free if you are a UK or home- fee status student and aged 16-18 on the 31st August before the start of your course.

If you are aged 19 or over, you may be required to pay fees depending on your residency status, educational background and personal circumstances.
