Overview

This course provides an opportunity for those interested in fashion to explore, develop and test their creativity in a broad range of fashion business and retail disciplines including critical and contextual awareness, fashion production and the supply chain, fashion management and marketing, visual merchandising and communication for fashion business and retail.

Some of the activities you will participate in include planning and developing new fashion ranges, designing visual merchandising displays and promoting fashion retail activities.

  • Collaborative Fashion Retail Project

In addition English and maths will be developed and assessed.

September - June

Entry requirements

You must have achieved an appropriate Level 2 vocational qualification and/or 5 GCSEs at grade 5 or above or 2 AS Levels.

You will be assessed by a variety of methods including, written assignments, presentations, discussion, sketchbook development, mood boards and oral questioning. An individual final major project will be chosen by the student and lecturer.

You can progress onto the Extended Dimploma in Fashion Buisness and Communication, a foundation degree or directly into employment.

The College Careers Service is available to all our students. We can help you when deciding which course or option you wish to take. During your course we ensure you develop employability skills and gain relevant experience. We provide information, advice and support when completing your course and progressing to work or going into further education.

Tuition fees are free if you are a UK or home- fee status student and aged 16-18 on the 31st August before the start of your course.

If you are aged 19 or over, you may be required to pay fees depending on your residency status, educational background and personal circumstances.

Fashion Business & Communication students will be based in our specialist classrooms with a range of resources to complement their studies. They will take part in a range of projects such as fashion shows, styling models for photo shoots, taking part in charity sales and decorating window displays.
