This level 3 course is designed for learners that wish to progress into employment as an Electrical Technician.

Electrical Technicians generally focus on the maintenance and repair of industrial equipment such as transformers, generators, turbines and compressors.

There are employment prospects across a wide variety of roles and working environments and many opportunities to specialise into fields such as high voltage or hazardous areas which can lead to overseas or offshore employment.

Modules offered may vary. Modules will include:
• Engineering environment Health & Safety
• Organisational efficiency and improvement
• Computer aided design techniques (CAD)
• Electrical and electronic principles
• Programmable logic controllers
• Electrical inspection, testing and commissioning
• Electrical maintenance in buildings
• Installation of electrical equipment

3 days per week.

Entry requirements

Minimum entry requirements of GCSE Grade C/4 in Maths, English and Science.

You will be assessed through observation (with appropriate witness testimony), short online testing and on-going assignments.

This qualification will provide you with a range of transferable skills so that you can progress onto an Apprenticeship, Further Education or Employment.
