Overview

Ideally should be in a first line manager role with operational/project management responsibility or responsibility for managing a team to deliver a clearly defined outcome. You will provide direction/ instruction and guidance to ensure the achievement of set goals. Relevant for managers working in the private, public or third sector.

  • Budget management/ project management
  • Problem solving an decision making

Entry requirements

You must have achieved an appropriate Level 2 vocational qualification and /or five GCSEs at grade 4/5 (C) or above.

If you have a grade 3 (D) or below in GCSE English and/or maths you will be required to continue studying these subjects as part of your study programme.

Students will be taught by lectures, seminars, discussion groups, case studies, presentations and self study.

Assessment will be a mixture of assignments, presentations and reviews.

Students who enrol on to the programme under the apprenticeship framework will also be required to undertake examinations in functional skills at Level 2 in English, mathematics and ICT.

This qualification will provide progression opportunities to other qualifications such as the ILM Level 4 NVQ Diploma in Management, ILM Level 4 Diploma in the Principles of Leadership & Management, ILM Level 5 NVQ Diploma in Management and the ILM Level 5 Diploma in Leadership Management.

The College Careers Service is available to all our students. We can help you when deciding which course or option you wish to take. During your course we ensure you develop employability skills and gain relevant experience. We provide information, advice and support when completing your course and progressing to work or going into higher education. When applying for university we can provide support with the UCAS application and Student Finance.
