Overview

This advanced level covers higher accounting tasks, including drafting financial statements, managing budgets and evaluating financial performance.

You will also be able to specialise in areas such as tax and credit control.

Entry requirements

You must have achieved a Level 2 English and maths, and have completed Level 3 AAT or similar qualification. Certificates will need to be produced at enrolment.

Due to the high demands of the course, there is a requirement to have some existing accounting knowledge to be accepted on this level and all new applicants are required to take part in an informal interview and skills assessment.

You will be assessed through six computer based assessments.

You can progress onto further study including the CIMA, ACCA or BA (Hons) Accounting.

The College Careers Service is available to all our students. We can help you when deciding which course or option you wish to take. During your course we ensure you develop employability skills and gain relevant experience.

Tuition fees are free if you are a UK or home- fee status student and aged 16-18 on the 31st August before the start of your course.

If you are aged 19 or over, you may be required to pay fees depending on your residency status, educational background and personal circumstances.

However, you may qualify for an Advanced Learner Loan. You can apply for an Advanced Learning Loan from Student Finance England (SFE) to fund all or part of the fee. For information on Advanced Learning Loans go to www.gov.uk/advanced-learning-loans/
