This course is aimed at unemployed individuals who are looking for work in the Health & Social Care sector. 
This training has been developed with various Care Employers in the local area, according to requirements within the Social Care Sector. Upon successful completion of the training course, all learners will receive full support in preparing for employment. This includes interview skills, including researching Health and Care roles, mock interview and feedback, personal presentation, application forms, CVs. 

We are currently working with various employers to support in filling key worker vacancies in various areas of the H&C sector, including care assistant roles in residential care homes, retirement housing and domiciliary care.

Middlesbrough College will also pay for a DBS check if it is required.

One course per month is delivered throughout the year.

Entry requirements

Entry 3 English – this will be assessed at Awareness session.

There are nine assessments which are completed using question and answer through completion of workbooks, research tasks and other methods to support the students in their learning about the different topical areas. A mix of classroom and online sessions will take place to provide teaching.

Level 2 Preparing to work in Adult Social Care, other Level 2 H&C related courses.  Employment within the H&C sector.

Remission of fees available if unemployed and in receipt of Universal Credit/Job Seekers Allowance/Income Support/ESA (wrag).
