Overview

This course is a mixture of practical and theory science that covers all three science disciplines and puts science into a vocational context. Students will study a range of units and will be assessed through submission of reports, assignments and completion of practicals.

There are six core units and thirteen specialist units within the areas of:

  • Biology
  • Chemistry
  • Physics
  • Forensics
  • Psychology
  • Sociology
  • Maths

September - June

Entry requirements

You must have achieved 4 GCSEs at grade 3 with science at grade 3 or above.

The course is assessed continuously throughout the two years by students typically completing four assignments per unit.

Progression Opportunities: Students who successfully complete the Level 2 course will have the opportunity to progress to a Level 3 course, or on to an Apprenticeship / Employment.
Career Opportunities: Career opportunities include work in laboratory science, Engineering, Health and Social Care or Sport.

Tuition fees are free if you are a UK or home- fee status student and aged 16-18 on the 31st August before the start of your course.

If you are aged 19 or over, you may be required to pay fees depending on your residency status, educational background and personal circumstances.
