This course will help you develop your skills to progress into further training and employment within the IT sector. You will explore and develop the basic skills needed to work with computers as part of your everyday working life.

The course also offers a solid foundation for those who wish to pursue education and training in digital industries and media. Throughout the duration of the course you will focus on IT topics such as computing basics, using email as well as working with word processing and presentation software.

Entry requirements

There are no formal qualifications required.

There will be planned assessments taking place throughout the course allowing you to develop your skills and knowledge over the year.

You can progress onto a range of Level 1 or Level 2 programmes across College and is an ideal stepping stone into Computing & IT.

Tuition fees are free if you are a UK or home- fee status student and aged 16-18 on the 31st August before the start of your course. If you are aged 19 or over, you may be required to pay fees depending on your residency status, educational background and personal circumstances.

Explore Life Skills

Life Skills students will be joining a small, self-contained community where they can develop a range of skills including writing, independence, and employment progression. Students have access to the ALS Hub, with quiet study and social spaces and specialist facilities, and can get involved in a range of projects such as the community café.
