Overview

A vocational IT course is ideal if you prefer to learn in a way that’s practical and work-related. The course is designed with exciting content that aims to develop your knowledge, understanding and skills of the principles of IT and Global Information Systems.

It gives you an insight into the IT sector as you investigate technological change, IT infrastructure, the flow of information on a global scale and the importance of legal and security considerations. You will also develop transferable skills required by employers and universities such as communication, problem solving, time management and analytical skills.

Entry requirements

You should have achieved at least five 9-5 grades at GCSE (not equivalents), including English language and maths. An average GCSE point score of 5.5 recommended (only GCSE grades for this score, not equivalents).

You will be assessed through assignments and coursework.

University Opportunities:  Past students have progressed to study degrees in other subjects such as English, Law, Sciences and often progressed to teaching degrees, both primary and secondary.
Career Opportunities: Career opportunities include IT Technician, app developer, data analyst, programming and the course has support from employers such as BT, Barclays, Cisco, IBM and Naace.

Tuition fees are free if you are a UK or home- fee status student and aged 16-18 on the 31st August before the start of your course.

If you are aged 19 or over, you may be required to pay fees depending on your residency status, educational background and personal circumstances.

You only need to apply once for A Level programmes. After receiving your application form you will be invited to attend an informal interview where you will have a chance to discuss which specific A Level subjects you would like to enrol on.
