Modules include:

Learners interested in the Level 3 Advanced Technical Diploma in Plumbing will study theoretical aspects of the subject and apply them to practical tasks.
Compulsory topics include:

  • Engineering materials
  • Planning and overseeing electrical work activities
  • Domestic central heating systems planning and design
  • Principles and requirements of environmental technology systems
  • Domestic sanitation system installation, commissioning, service and maintenance techniques
  • Cold water systems planning and design
  • Hot water systems planning and design
  • Building services site procedures and planning

3 Days per week, days and times confirmed upon enrolment.

Entry requirements

You must have achieved a Level 2 Diploma and maths and English GCSE at grades 9-4 (A* to C).

You will learn and be assessed by a mixture of practical activities and online multiple-choice tests. The course is assessed through assignments, Practical end point assessments and theoretical examinations

You can progress onto further study with the HNC in Building Studies or NVQ Level 2 or 3, if employment is gained with a plumbing company.

If you are aged 19 or over, you may be required to pay fees depending on your residency status, educational background and personal circumstances. Many people qualify for free tuition fees, for more information please contact Course Information on 01642 333333.

Level 3 Entitlement: If you are aged 19 - 23 on the start date of the course and this is your first full Level 3 qualification the course is free.

Advanced Learner Loan: If you are aged 19-23 and this is not your first full Level 3 qualification or you are aged 24 or over on the start date of the course, you will have to pay fees. However, you may qualify for an Advanced Learner Loan. You can apply for an Advanced Learning Loan from Student Finance England (SFE) to fund all or part of the fee. Explore Construction

Construction students will have the opportunity to work in state of the art workshops, and have access to a real life outdoor construction site. This realistic work environment allows students to gain practical experience in constructing a single story dwelling which is built from foundations up to the roof.
