The travel industry is as diverse as the world it serves and the job opportunities are endless.

With this in mind we have put together a course which will give adult learners a detailed knowledge and understanding of many parts of the travel and tourism industry. You will gain a full Level 2 qualification, which is essential for most travel related jobs.

Functional English and / or functional maths will be included at an appropriate level.

Entry requirements

You must possess a Level 1 qualification or four or more GCSEs at grade 3 (D) or above to include a minimum of a grade 3 (D) in English (or an equivalent qualification) or two GCSEs at grade 4 (C) or above or other equivalent qualifications acceptable to the College. You must also undertake successful interview and provide a satisfactory reference.

Internal assessments will be carried out in a variety of ways including assignments, role plays and presentations.

There will be 8 units throughout the year and within each unit there will be tasks that build up to a final assignment.

There will be 2 computer based examinations, these will take place in March/April.

You can seek employment in the travel or aviation industry or progress to Level 3 Retrain in Travel & Tourism.


Tuition fees are free if you are a UK or home- fee status student and aged 16-18 on the 31st August before the start of your course. 

If you are aged 19 or over, you may be required to pay fees depending on your residency status, educational background and personal circumstances. Many people qualify for free tuition fees, for more information please contact Course Information on 01642 333333.

Level 2 Entitlement: If you are aged 19 - 23 on the start date of the course and this is your first full Level 2 qualification, the course is free if you are studying for an entry or Level 1 qualification (except Basic Skills) where a step from Basic Skills is needed in order to progress to a first full Level 2 course or this is a first full Level 2 qualification.

You only need to apply once for A Level programmes. After receiving your application form you will be invited to attend an informal interview where you will have a chance to discuss which specific A Level subjects you would like to enrol on.

Travel, tourism & aviation students will have the opportunity to work in an on-site simulated aircraft cabin complete with seats, drinks, duty free trolleys and emergency life jackets.
