This course is for anyone interested in gaining basic beauty skills or looking to work as an assistant beauty therapist.

You will practice these treatments at our modern Francesco commercial beauty salon.

The course will be delivered through a mixture of interactive classroom teaching, group work, discussions and practical work. You may have the opportunity to undertake additional optional qualifications (may incur an additional cost).

This course may include 9.00 am starts and a late night.

  • Underpinning Knowledge of Anatomy and Physiology

Tuesday, 9am-2pm.

Wednesday, 11.30am-6.30pm.

Thursday, 9am-2pm.

Entry requirements

This course is open to all students over 19, subject to successful interview and initial assessment.

You will be assessed on an on-going basis through observation of your performance of practical techniques with clients, your achievements in assignments to test theoretical knowledge and the production of a portfolio of evidence.

On successful completion of this course you may become a junior therapist or progress onto a Level 3 Diploma in Spa and Body Therapies.

Progression is not automatic and you will require good attendance and a suitable reference from your tutor.


Tuition fees are free if you are a UK or home- fee status student and aged 16-18 on the 31st August before the start of your course.

If you are aged 19 or over, you may be required to pay fees depending on your residency status, educational background and personal circumstances. Many people qualify for free tuition fees, for more information please contact Course Information on 01642 333333.

Level 2 Entitlement: If you are aged 19 - 23 on the start date of the course and this is your first full Level 2 qualification, the course is free if you are studying for an entry or Level 1 qualification (except Basic Skills) where a step from Basic Skills is needed in order to progress to a first full Level 2 course or this is a first full Level 2 qualification.

You only need to apply once for A Level programmes. After receiving your application form you will be invited to attend an informal interview where you will have a chance to discuss which specific A Level subjects you would like to enrol on.
