Overview

This course is both practical and theoretical and will encourage you to explore a range of different musical styles. You will learn about music history, the music industry and music theory. You will also be able to take part in regular instrument lessons and music workshops, covering a range of musical styles.

Typically you will be in college between 9.00am to 4.30 for 3 days a week (subject to change).

Entry requirements

You must have achieved an appropriate Level 1 vocational qualification and /or GCSEs at grade 3 (D) or above.

You will be assessed through set assignments and performances using practical work and observation.

You can progress to the Level 3 Music Practice course.

Tuition fees are free if you are a UK or home- fee status student and aged 16-18 on the 31st August before the start of your course.

If you are aged 19 or over, you may be required to pay fees depending on your residency status, educational background and personal circumstances.

Music students can benefit from three recording studios connected to five control rooms (two equipped for surround sound), the largest of which can hold an orchestra. The studios are equipped with industry standard equipment and resources.
