The 18-month apprenticeship aims for learners to set people up on Information Technology (IT) systems, provide support and solve problems to help organisations run smoothly.

On Programme Qualifications:
Comptia A+ or Cisco CCNA1
Knowledge Module 2 (KM2): Mobile and Operating Systems
Knowledge Module 3 (KM3): Cloud Services
Knowledge Module 4 (KM4): Coding and Logic
Knowledge Module 5 (KM5): Business Processes.

The apprenticeship consists of work based and classroom learning to support learners though their on-programme qualifications and end point assessment.

The core behaviours the apprentice must develop include: team working; effective communication; time management; workplace

Entry requirements

  • Employment in a suitable role for the chosen apprenticeship is essential. Northern Skills Group will work with applicants to help find a suitable employer where possible but we advise anyone looking to undertake an apprenticeship to actively seek employment for themselves.
  • Applicants are required to have gained a Level 2 English and maths (GCSE Grades 9-4 / A-C). Certificates will need to be produced at enrolment. If proof cannot be produced or you do not meet these entry requirements, then applicants will be invited to complete an initial assessment prior to acceptance. An interview will take place.
  • If you do not have a grade 9 to 4 in English and / or maths (grade A-C for previous GCSE measures) you will be required to continue studying these subjects.

This qualification is assessed through
Synoptic project
A 21-hour assessment of a selected set of knowledge,
skills and behaviours against a pre-defined
project. Supervised in a controlled environment.
Summative portfolio
This provides evidence against the standard based on the application of knowledge, skills and behaviours to real projects in the work environment. Reviewed externally by the assessor
Employer reference
A written statement from the employer with their conclusion on how the apprentice has performed in the workplace and how they have applied their knowledge, skills and behaviours across certain projects.
Interview with an external industry expert
This provides an opportunity for further evidence to be gathered or explored in more detail. The conversation will be steered towards the specific knowledge, skills and behaviours as set out in the standard.

Explore Construction

Construction students will have the opportunity to work in state of the art workshops, and have access to a real life outdoor construction site. This realistic work environment allows students to gain practical experience in constructing a single story dwelling which is built from foundations up to the roof.
