Overview

This course provides you with a good quality grounding in performing arts, equipping you with performance skills and background theory in a specialist area of performing arts.

We work towards a number of performances throughout the year including performance/devised cabarets and classical and contemporary plays.

Entry requirements

  • 5 or more GCSEs (not equivalents) including English and maths at grade 5 or above.

You will be assessed using coursework within each unit using a variety of assessment methods including: written, oral and performance.

Each assessment is graded using Pass Merit and Distinction.

Past students have progressed onto our degrees in BSc (Hons) Audiovisual Technology and the BSc (Hons) Sound and Music Technology. After completing the degrees you will be well equipped to pursue a career in audio-video production, visual effects, animation, audio development, teaching, music technician, management, studio engineering, game audio, multimedia design and management.

Completion of this course allows you to progress to higher education in performing arts, or move into employment within the entertainment industry.

The College Careers Service is available to all our students. We can help you when deciding which course or option you wish to take. During your course we ensure you develop employability skills and gain relevant experience. We provide information, advice and support when completing your course and progressing to work or going into higher education. When applying for university we can provide support with the UCAS application and Student Finance.

You will not have to pay tuition fees if you are under 19 on 31 August in the year of your entry to the course. You must also satisfy UK / EEA residency rules.

You only need to apply once for A Level programmes. After receiving your application form you will be invited to attend an informal interview where you will have a chance to discuss which specific A Level subjects you would like to enrol on.
