You will undertake a VCQ (competence unit) in the workplace collecting a portfolio of evidence, and will be assessed at your place of work by a college assessor.

Entry requirements

Must be in full time employment and have 4 GCSE’s minimum of grade E’s Including Maths, English and Science and satisfactory references. Minimum of L1 initial assessment for Maths and English.

Assessment methods: You will be required to collect evidence from your place of employment.

IMI L3 VCQ Dip. in Heavy Vehicle Maint. and Repair Competence.

If you are aged 19 or over, you may be required to pay fees depending on your residency status, educational background and personal circumstances. Many people qualify for free tuition fees, for more information please contact Course Information on 01642 333333.

You only need to apply once for A Level programmes. After receiving your application form you will be invited to attend an informal interview where you will have a chance to discuss which specific A Level subjects you would like to enrol on.

Motor Vehicle students will have access to our fully-equipped motor vehicle service unit which is based on main dealer standards. Here, they will gain practical skills in a wide variety of vehicles using up-to-date equipment and diagnostic tools and develop theoretical knowledge using custom built training rigs and interactive resources.
