Overview

The BTEC Level 1 Certificate in Retail knowledge is a specialist work related qualification. It gives learners the knowledge, understanding and skills they need to prepare for employment in a specific occupational area.

The qualification will aid the learners with the vital skill of retailing which is desirable in job roles today.

The qualification also provides career development opportunities by attending external work placement and also managing work activities internally.

Entry requirements

There are no specific entry requirements for this course.

You will be assessed through 8 theory based assignments and a practical synoptic assessment covering all units.

You can progress onto the Level 2 Retail.

The College Careers Service is available to all our students. We can help you when deciding which course or option you wish to take. During your course we ensure you develop employability skills and gain relevant experience. We provide information, advice and support when completing your course and progressing to work or going into higher education. When applying for University we can provide support with the UCAS application and Student Finance.

Tuition fees are free if you are a UK or home- fee status student and aged 16-18 on the 31st August before the start of your course.

If you are aged 19 or over, you may be required to pay fees depending on your residency status, educational background and personal circumstances.

You will need to bring pens, note pad and a green portfolio to theory lessons.
