This course is for anyone aspiring to become a barber. It will cover practical babering skills and theoretical aspects of barbering.

You will carry out a range of services on clients within our salons. You may also have the opportunity to undertake additional optional qualifications which may incur an additional cost.

This course may include 9.00am start times and a late night.

You will also complete 30 hours of external work experience in a salon of your choice.

Entry requirements

You must have achieved Maths and English GCSEs at grades 3 (D) or above.

You will be assessed through theory based online exams, theory based assignments and a practical synoptic assessment covering all units.

You can seek employment within a salon, on a cruise ship or with leading brands as a sales representative.

You can also progress onto further education to study a leadership and management degree.

The College Careers Service is available to all our students. We can help you when deciding which course or option you wish to take. During your course we ensure you develop employability skills and gain relevant experience. We provide information, advice and support when completing your course and progressing to work or going into higher education. When applying for university we can provide support with the UCAS application and Student Finance.

Tuition fees are free if you are a UK or home- fee status student and aged 16-18 on the 31st August before the start of your course.

If you are aged 19 or over, you may be required to pay fees depending on your residency status, educational background and personal circumstances.

You will need to purchase the barbering kit, estimated cost around £154.40.

You will need to purchase our Francesco uniform which is £21.50.

You will need to bring pens, note pad and a green portfolio to theory lessons.

Depending on your personal circumstances, financial support may be available.
