OVERVIEW

The creative industries are an important growth area in the UK, bringing significant cultural and economic benefits. The Level 3 Cambridge Technicals in Media offers a wide range of units to reflect the range of opportunities available within the Media and Journalism sector.

It is an ideal foundation for students, providing them with understanding of Journalism through engagement with media products, production processes and technologies. This leads to the application of practical and creative skills that transfer easily into the workplace.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

You must have achieved five GCSEs at grade 4 (C) or above including Maths and English Language. You may also need certain grades for your chosen subjects.

This qualification will provide you with a range of transferable skills so that you can progress onto a range of our HE courses.

Past students have progressed onto a range of courses offered at Middlesbrough College, such as the BSc Audiovisual Technology, BA (Hons) Education, and the Fd/BSc (Hons) Games Design (top-up).

This course provides students with the necessary experience and qualifications for progression into higher education to study degrees and foundation degrees.

Alternatively, this course is preparation for entry level employment in various aspects of journalism.

The College Careers Service is available to all our students. We can help you when deciding which course or option you wish to take. During your course we ensure you develop employability skills and gain relevant experience. We provide information, advice and support when completing your course and progressing to work or going into higher education. When applying for university we can provide support with the UCAS application and Student Finance.

You will not have to pay tuition fees if you are under 19 on 31 August in the year of your entry to the course.

You only need to apply once for A Level programmes. After receiving your application form you will be invited to attend an informal interview where you will have a chance to discuss which specific A Level subjects you would like to enrol on.
