Petrina was appointed to the Governing Body in March 2021.

Petrina has worked in the public sector and brings knowledge and experience of post 16 further education and skills from a policy, implementation and funding perspective. Her roles were in the Tees Valley and North East region, frequently representing the area on national groups.

Petrina is a consultant who has delivered various activities within the post 16 sector, from undertaking work for funding organisations, and delivering programmes for teaching staff to improve teaching and learning through working collaboratively.

Before becoming a consultant, Petrina was a senior manager in the Skills Funding Agency (SFA) and prior to this the Learning and Skills Council and the Training and Enterprise Council.

Whilst working for these organisations Petrina has had experience of leading in many areas including Sector Skills, Adult and Community Learning, working with DWP and the unemployed, Economic Development, Qualification Reform and Workforce Learning and Development.

Petrina started her working life as a Careers Adviser for Cleveland County Council.
