Born in Scotland, Sandy has a professional background in Human Resource, specialising in Reward and Pensions. Having started his career with the Inland Revenue.

Sandy spent most of his working career in London within HR for Unilever, Jones Lang Lasalle, Logica and Deloittes, before moving into the financial services sector, working on reward and pension schemes with Aviva, Bradford and Bingley, Kelloggs, the Co-Operative Bank and Northern Rock, where he has managed teams of HR specialists and supported and advised Remuneration Committees. Sandy then moved into interim reward consultancy in 2012, working for a number of clients before retiring at the end of 2015.

Sandy has an MA in Managing Human Resources and is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management, a trained job evaluator and Pension Trustee.

Since retiring Sandy has served as a pension trustee for one of his previous employers and is Treasurer of his village’s Sports Day Committee.

Sandy is married and lives in Melsonby, North Yorkshire.

Sandy enjoys playing golf and supporting Stenhousemuir FC.

Sandy was appointed as an External Member of the Corporate Services Committee on 20 May 2017, and works closely with the Human Resources Team.
