Caroline was appointed in April 2021 and is a qualified and experienced professional with a career spanning 30 years in the field of children and young people’s services.
Caroline brings a great deal of senior level experience in the field of Special Educational Needs and or Disabilities. She has led on significant programmes that have sought to reshape and recalibrate services for children and young people with specialist educational needs and or disabilities, recognised by the Department for Education and local, regional and national stakeholders as examples of good practice.
Caroline has managed a broad range of front line services across Children and Adult Social Care and Adult & Community Learning, and led on major projects designed to improve outcomes and the overall life chances for children, young people and adults with disabilities and/or difficulties.
Caroline has also supported a number of local authorities to develop their provision and practice.
Caroline was a previous finalist in the National Innovation in Children’s Commissioning Awards for her work on personalised learning pathways for young people with more complex needs which has been replicated in other LA’s as a blueprint for good practice.
She is also a senior member of various partnership groups and works closely with all stakeholders to ensure a key line of sight is maintained between activity and improved outcomes for children and young people.
