The Open University

As a student, you will graduate with the prestige of an Open University degree.

Most of the courses offered by Middlesbrough College are delivered in collaboration with our partner, The Open University. Established in 1964, The OU is a globally recognised brand and currently validates over 250 programmes working with colleges and employers across the country.

The Open University (OU) is the largest academic institution in the UK and a world leader in delivering flexible learning. Since it began in 1969, The OU has taught more than 1.8 million students and 87% of OU research is deemed internationally recognised or better.

Through our partnership with The OU, we have the flexibility to create courses that meet employer needs, giving our graduates the vocational experience to progress into employment on completion of their programme.

Regarded as the UK’s major e-learning institution, The OU offers its students a vast open content portfolio of online resources and learning materials. Students will be able to access these facilities in the College or from home to support with their studies.

OU degrees are taught degrees delivered at the Middlesbrough College campus.
