Exceptional Dedication
28 August 2012
Former Acklam Grange student, Laliesha Ali is one of Middlesbrough College’s exceptional A Level students – she studies hard - and still finds the time to spearhead charity events and visit Africa.
Hardworking Laliesha scored an A in Media and B in History and English Language at A level.
She decided to attend Middlesbrough College after shopping around for the ‘best fit’ for her. She said: “I felt it suited me more. The course sounded like just what I wanted to do.
“The teachers here are so welcoming and friendly. They strive to create a rapport with us as individuals, I like that because it makes me want to do well for them as well as for myself.
“The facilities here are already great for me as an A Level student but with the new Sixth Form Centre (MC6) opening this September it will be even better with dedicated space and facilities just for A Level students.”
In the future Laliesha hopes to forge a career in broadcast journalism or to continue her charity work.
“I'm going to Salford University to do Journalism at Media City.
“I'd love to have a job in journalism, I wouldn't turn down print work as I enjoy writing, but broadcasting really interests me” she said.
“Other than that I do hope to continue with charity work and expand into helping other non-profit organisations.”
