BIRTHDAY girl Sophie Jinks celebrated her coming of age with an extra special present to herself – her dream place at University.

Sophie, who opened her results on her big day, was thrilled to get an A in Law, an A in Sociology and a B in Psychology – meaning she can take up her place at Durham University to read Criminology.

The former Hall Garth School pupil has loved every minute of her time at Middlesbrough College, from making new friends to the interesting lessons, especially in her favourite lesson Sociology.

Sophie, of Grove Hill, Middlesbrough, who has three brothers, will be the first in her family to attend university and her parents are really thrilled at her success.

“I really have loved it here at Middlesbrough College and will be sorry to move on in a way.
