Another Successful Open Evening for MC
06 February 2012

Oopen Evening at Middlesbrough College, Feb 2012Middlesbrough College celebrated its 3rd Open Evening of the academic year in style by offering visitors a taste of student life.

At the Town Centre entrance, current Performing Arts students displayed their talents by singing, playing acoustic guitar and operating gobo lighting systems and Music Technology students entertained an intrigued audience with their jungle and techno dj’ing skills.

Whilst at the Clock Tower entrance, Engineering staff were offering demonstrations in Motor Vehicle and Electrical Engineering Technologies and Construction staff were demonstrating many of the known building trades including plumbing, plastering, joinery and brickwork.

In the central area of the College near reception, Sport were educating potential students in the complex area of ligament strains and bone fractures and the catering team were cooking some wonderful treats for all to savour

The College also welcomed a couple of our external collaborative partners such as The Unicorn Centre and  the National Citizen Service.

Over 100 Full Time Applications were completed in many curriculum areas from Catering to Sport and from Health and Car to Travel and Tourism.

We had Y11s attending from schools as far afield as Whitby Community College to our more local feeder schools like Thornaby Academy, Acklam Grange in Middlesbrough, St Patricks in Thornaby, Grangefield in Stockton and Laurence Jackson in Guisborough.

Here at Middlesbrough College we always try and make the Open Evenings as enjoyable and as interactive as possible and this one was certainly no exception.

Photographs taken of the Opening Evening can now be viewed in The Image Gallery on the College's website.

If you missed it then you missed out for sure but don’t worry, there may be other Open Evenings arranged before this academic year is through and if not you can always contact marketing@mbro.ac.uk

The Marketing Team is always happy to accommodate students, who, for whatever reason, couldn’t make one of the Open Evenings, but would still like to view the College facilities.

Please email us with convenient dates and times and we will do our best to book you in for a guided tour as soon as possible.
