Parking For Visitors To The College
28 June 2010
The College has limited parking facilities.
Preference is given in the allocation of these spaces to learners, members of staff, and people with disabilities.
The College has a number of parking spaces reserved for people with disabilities. These are located in the Clock Tower Entrance Car Park. If you are disabled and have a valid Disabled Person Parking Permit you may use a designated space free of charge. You must display your Disabled Person Parking Permit on the inside of your windscreen when you park.
Between 6.00 am and 6.00 pm, Monday to Sunday, visitors may use The Town Entrance Car Park and the Clock Tower Entrance Car Park provided they do not park in designated spaces and provided they display a valid Visitor Parking Permit or Parking Disc.
If you are a visitor and you are coming to see someone at the College, ask your host to obtain a Visitor Parking Permit. This must be obtained at least 48 hours prior to your arrival at the College, and must be displayed on the inside of the windscreen of your vehicle when you park.
Alternatively, if your visit is for less than 3 hours, you may obtain a Parking Disc from College Reception. This must be displayed on the inside of the windscreen of your vehicle when you park, and must clearly indicate the time of your arrival.
Failure to display properly a valid Visitor Parking Permit, Parking Disc or Disabled Person Parking Permit, or to otherwise park in an inconsiderate or inappropriate manner, may result in the vehicle being wheel-clamped (and released on payment of a fee – currently £50).
After 6.00pm visitors may park in the Town Entrance Car Park and the Clock Tower Entrance Car Park without the need to display a Visitor Parking Permit or Parking Disc.
The Commercial Street Car Park is only available to people holding a valid Staff or Learner Parking Permit. It is closed after 5.00 pm Monday to Friday and all day Saturday and Sunday.
There is extensive metered parking available in local streets, at a cost of £2 per day or £1 for two hours (Monday - Saturday 8.00am - 6.00pm.
There are also public car parks a short walking distance from the College.
