100 College Posts On Offer At Jobs Fair
21 June 2012
MIDDLESBROUGH College will hold a recruitment drive on Monday 25th June 2012 with 100 jobs on offer across a broad range of skills and experience and that’s great news for the local economy.
The positions range from hourly paid to salaried positions, with a number of lecturing, business support, student support and sport coaching posts in a variety of departments, from business and building to catering and performing arts.
The jobs list will also include a number of apprenticeships in everything from business administration and customer service to IT,
The event will be held at the College from 2pm – 7pm on the Monday and applicants are advised to research the role they will be applying for and pop along for a chat.
Middlesbrough College is investing in these new posts to support students and to improve services whilst trying to manage the cuts in Government funding through a process of challenging workplace reforms.
This investment in staff resources is also needed due to staff and course changes, as well as supporting the opening of the new £6.5 million Sixth Form Centre (MC6) and the launch of the College’s Sporting Academies, both of which are due to open in September this year
Mike Hopkins, Principal and Chief Executive (pictured right), said: “There are a lot of jobs on offer at Middlesbrough College at the moment and it is vital we fill them to enable us to continue to offer such a great variety of courses to our students. And, we’re delighted to be able to boost the local economy with these appointments.
“We are on the lookout for the best and most inspiring staff to become a part of our team and are sure we have something to interest the majority of people looking for work.
“We believe that this recruitment of new staff will make a real difference to students lives by helping to support them in their studies, by helping them financially through the provision of a comprehensive Student Benefits Package as well as helping them to achieve and progress their career ambitions.
“This is an exciting time to work in further education and to be involved with the young people who will be the future of this country.”
