Learning Resource Centre (LRC)
The Learning Resources Centre at Middlesbrough College is at the heart of the learning culture of the College.
The Learning and Resources Centre has over 30,000 books and over 200 computers available for use by students and staff.
A team of qualified and experienced staff are ready to assist LRC users to access resources and make the most of the facilities available.
Computers are available for group or individual use and there are Enquiry desks where you can ask for help. Printers, scanners and photocopiers are available on both floors. WiFi is available if you prefer to bring in your own device.
The First Floor includes the LRC Entrances and Reception desks, the Multi-media room with specialist software, DVDs, CDs and Videos. Careers, Skills for Life and ESOL resources, tables for group work and individual study space. Displays for new resources and journals.
The Second Floor houses the majority of the LRC book stock, there are tables for group work and an Enquiry Desk. CAD and Sage software are available on this floor, please ask staff for more details.
To take advantage of the facilities and resources available in the Learning Resources Centre, you need to register as a user. Simply bring your College ID card to enter the Centre or obtain a Visitor's Card from College Reception.
The Learning Resources Centre offers a range of services to help users.
Learners are given £6 printing credit in September and January; you can buy extra (if needed) from the LRC desk. We also offer a stationery shop, where in addition to general stationery supplies; you can purchase acetates, binding combs for use with the binding machines when you have completed your work and a laminator.
Experienced LRC staff will be pleased to help you find and access or reserve the resources you need, book and use the equipment and will advise and support you whether you study full or part-time at the College.
Support is also available on using electronic resources including Canvas, and Information skills training sessions can be organised in the LRC.
