Our History

Middlesbrough College is about preparing people for the future, but we are also very aware of our past.

The College is keen to preserve our history. So often people are distracted by the present and the future that they fail to recognise that what happens today is tomorrow's history.

 

Bringing Past to Life

We are fortunate to have access to quite a few records from the past which bring to life the history of Middlesbrough College and it's predecessors. We are also fortunate that we are able to call upon the wonderful records available through Teesside Archives.

 

We have created an online archive of historical documents that we think may be of interest to current students, staff, former pupils and local historians. We cannot hope to include every document, but we hope that the selection that we have provided will give a flavour of the fascinating history that is our heritage.

Not everyone can get to see original historic documents. We have used modern technologies to do the next best thing. Within our archives you can see original documents and turn the pages of history as if you are holding the document in your hand.

Our online archives will be regularly reviewed and updated to include new documents as they come to light. If you have any records or documents, or just memories, that you wish to share with us, please get in touch.
