Mr Aslam Hanif College Governor
Aslam was appointed a College Governor on 30 March 2009 and also serves on the Corporate Services Committee and is the Nominated Governor for Equality & Diversity.
Aslam is a Property Surveyor working for a major housing organisation in the North East and has over 35 years’ experience in the Construction Industry and has worked on some of the leading projects in the area.
Since 2006, Aslam has served as an independent member of Cleveland Police Authority, working with local communities to provide a quality policing service and has chaired its Policy and Resources Panel.
Aslam was appointed as Vice Chair of the Authority in January 2012 and became the first person from the BME Communities to hold this position. Aslam is currently serving on the Cleveland Audit Committee, which is a combined body to advise the financial management code of practices requires for the PCC and the Chief Constable of Cleveland Police.
In the 2015 Queen’s Birthday Honours List, Aslam was awarded MBE for services to community relations on Teesside.
Aslam has an extensive experience as a board member and his specialist skills are Procurement, Finance and Estate Management.
Aslam is passionate in improving education within the Tees Valley and reaching out to all communities in the area, as he believes that education plays a great part in personal development.
