Mr Robert Davies Chairman of Governors
The Governing Body is very proud of its £100 million facilities at its awarding winning Middlehaven Campus, which opened in 2008.
In 2012, the Governing Body and the Senior Leadership Team invested £6.8m to build the College’s Sixth Form Centre (known as “MC6”) and state of the art Astro Turf Pitch, the latter of which is supporting the development of the Sporting Academies (MC SPORT).
The College then embarked on a £20 million investment in STEM in 2013, with an initial £8 million being invested to improve the facilities for students including the extension of MC6 and a number of new Engineering Workshops to cope with increasing demand.
The College then completed the final phase of this £20 million investment with the opening of the £12 million state of the art STEM Centre (Science, Technology, Engineering & Maths) in September 2015.

This investment in STEM is central to the College’s ambitious plans as the College is playing a leading role in delivering the local, regional and national priorities with investment necessary to accommodate the increases in student numbers since its new Middlehaven Campus opened in 2008.
More recently, the College played a leading role in providing training opportunities following the closure of SSI and continues to develop its training and apprenticeship opportunities, with the acquisition of the North East Chamber of Commerce’s Training Arm (NECC Training) in August 2016.
The creation of a Combined Authority for Teesside and the Government’s Area Review Process, which recommended a merger with Redcar & Cleveland College, presents opportunities and challenges for the Governing Bodies and the Senior Leadership Teams of both colleges. However, the College will ensure that the interests and development of learners present and future remains at the very heart of everything we do.

The Governing Body also continues to improve the environment for its staff, students and visitors with £1.5 to £2 million being invested every year in facilities and IT as an on-going commitment to all of its stakeholders. This investment ensures that students, staff and stakeholders from Teesside and beyond get a first class education in one of the best facilities in the North East.
The College’s Mission Statement is at the heart of what the Governing Body and College Leadership Team are trying to achieve "Driving Ambition, Inspiring Success".
And as part of our commitment to staff, students and stakeholders, the Governing Body also continues to consult using a wide range of mechanisms – to see the full list click HERE.
Please take a few minutes to look through our Strategic Plan, Financial Statements, Annual Reports and the range of publications including the Full-time guide (including A Levels), Part-time guide and Access To Higher Education.
